Northeast Metropolitan Park is a 349 acre multiple-use recreational area with soccer fields, multi-use fields, baseball fields, a cricket field, basketball court, tennis court, skate park and a BMX race track. Amenities include restrooms, playgrounds, group shelters, picnic tables with grills, concession buildings for rent, and a water play area (water play area open May 1 through September 30, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.).

A two mile concrete sidewalk follows along Gilleland Creek making it ideal for biking, jogging, or walking while observing nature.
The Northeast Metro Skate Park opened Tuesday, September 18, 2012. Hours of operation are 8:00 am - 10:00 pm from February 16th through November 30th and 8:00 am – 8:00 pm December 1st through February 15th. The skate park is one of the largest in Texas.
